The North Middle School Drainage Improvements Project consisted of correcting many drainage issues outside and inside the interior building courtyard.  The project included reconstructing three courtyards, building two stormwater detention ponds, storm water piping, extensive decorative concrete and landscaping.  The construction of the interior building courtyard involved constructing a tunnel through the school to allow access and boring storm water pipe under the school building foundation. The school district utilized the project to experiment and test new landscape design concepts including synthetic turf, raised concrete reading mounds and natural rock boulder seating.
