This project included installation of 2.5 miles of dual 16” Force mains and 24” Gravity Sewer main to accommodate flows from Elk Vale Lift Station in Rapid City, SD. Interior piping modifications were also performed in the existing lift station to allow for use of the new force mains. Jack and Bore pipe casings were also required under the interstate, railroad, and city streets totaling 1,000 LF of 30” Casing installed. Challenges overcome were supply chain delays due to COVID-19 Pandemic, 2 EA – 300 LF Bores under Interstate 90, maximum 3-hour sewer shutdowns in operating lift station, and minimizing impact to the public installing 2.5 miles of pipeline within city limits.
